Introduction
The main objective of the Fisheries Department is to provide services to fishermen and those engaged in allied occupations in the fisheries sector in a speedy, flawless and efficient manner by formulating and implementing socio-economic schemes necessary for the welfare and progress of the fishing community by ensuring the balance of the ecosystem for the progress of the fishing sector, which plays an important role in the economy of Kerala, through timely and effective financial assistance/training for the upliftment of fishermen. In order to achieve this objective, the T Handbook aims to prepare various schemes for those working in the fisheries sector and the eligibility criteria for T schemes and to help in providing services to the beneficiaries of the T sector quickly.
The handbook “Welfare Schemes in the Fisheries Sector” has been prepared in 10 parts to convey the activities and missions of the department and various agencies under the department to all those working in the fisheries sector of Kerala, aiming at providing accurate and speedy service to the fishermen, allied workers, and children of fishermen families in the fisheries sector, such as how to apply for benefits in a beneficial manner for beneficiaries in various sectors, eligibility criteria, and appeal authority.
