THE MESSAGE

The fishing sector is one of the major contributors to the economic and social development of Kerala.During this period, the department has been implementing the schemes which will bring the marginalized hardworking fishermen community into the mainstream and ensure their livelihood security, educational upliftment and economic growth.Along with this, it is also aimed at conserving fish wealth, increasing fish production through fish farming by adopting innovative farming methods and ensuring the quality of fish to consumers.We have been able to move forward by making services online, e-office system, call centre for grievance redressal and master control room for coordination of rescue operations.

    The Department is also successfully implementing schemes to save fishermen from exploitation by middlemen, to make them the real owners of fishing equipment, to make fish value addition a reality, to conserve marine fish resources and to maintain their ecological integrity.I request everyone's support and cooperation for the development of Kerala's fisheries sector.
