On the first day of the Kerala–European Union Blue Economy Conclave, representatives of various state government departments held discussions with delegates from European countries on the potential of Kerala’s coastal and fisheries sector.

The two-day “Blue Tides: Kerala–European Union” Conclave, organized by the State Fisheries Department in collaboration with the Central Government and the European Union, was inaugurated by Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, Hon. Chief Minister of Kerala. Held under the theme “Two Shores, One Vision,” the event aims to promote sustainable development through ocean-based economic growth and enhance the coastal region’s integration into the broader economy. Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Pinarayi Vijayan handed over the keys of the first phase of 332 flats constructed in Muttathara, Thiruvananthapuram as part of the Punargeham project to safely rehabilitate fishermen in the coastal area. Along with this, he also inaugurated 16 flats constructed under the Punargeham project in Thanur Unnyal, Malappuram.
