In order to regulate the quality in production, rearing, marketing, exporting, importing of fish seed in the state, Kerala Govt. established State Fish Seed Centre under fish seed Act 2014 (4th Act of 2015) Registration and licensing of Fish seed hatcheries, seed farms, fish seed marketing, exporting and importing units, Fish seed certification, to make suggestions to Government on all matters related to production, rearing, stocking, marketing, transport, export and import of fish seed and its monitoring throughout the State, specify the quality of fish feed for fish seed rearing, adopt legal measures against the violations, etc. are the major functions of Fish Seed Centre.
